The proposed episode
This model episode would combine narration, source commentary, tune excerpts, interviews, and field-recording texture. It begins with a familiar folklore problem: a stranger arrives, plays impossibly well, and turns ordinary music-making into a story about dangerous skill.
Production approach
The finished program could move between an archival account, a contemporary fiddler discussing repertoire and technique, and commentary on related legend motifs. Sound design would support the documentary material rather than fabricate evidence.
Transparency
If music is newly recorded, a voice is reconstructed, or a scene is dramatized, the episode notes would say so plainly. Atmosphere is part of the form; ambiguity about sources is not.
